I was in Muang District, Petchaburi province when I bought my land at Baan Huay Sai on BD1971 for farming. Think about it, in those days, this area was a forest... a big forest and no people where here to take possession of it. Only 10 families have been living here, when I arrived. And I asked them: "Do you have a worship place for Allah for the Friday prayer here?"
"No, we don't! For more than 3 years now!" was the answer I received. "We must pray." Uncle Sop said. "But where is the land to place a mosque?" my neighbours asked.
So I offered: "Take my land!" and so it came that I donated 2 rai for my community; 1 rai for a cemetery and 1 rai for the mosque. "We were young and very strong, when we started to build the mosque and raising funds for it."
The head of the Muslim Community in Thailand sent a letter to register the mosque. But we could not do so, as the land we built upon, was not ours. But we did not know that. It belonged to the Royal Property.
So I went to see "Khun Danai" the head of the Royal Property office at that time. He Said "Dear Uncle! This land has been announced as a no hunting ground by HM Rama VI. Hence this land belongs to HM the King, and I cannot decide about it. So if you really need to use this land, go to HM and ask him."
So one day, HM the King came to our neighboring village. I was there, together with our Imam, and appeared before HM the King, and invited him: "Please come to our Mosque." HM answered: "I will come there in the next 3 days. Today it's already too late."
As HM promised, he came in 3 days, to breed fish and to free them into our water reservoir. HM the Queen came with him. Because we did not know, where he could sit, we used the pulpit to place HM the King. For HM the Queen we had a chair set next to HM the King.
He was wondering: "Uncle Sop invites me to be here for what purpose?"
My answer was: "I built this mosque in the believe, that the land was mine. But the land belongs to HM the King. So when the head of the Muslim community asked me to register the mosque, I could not do it, because I did not own the land. So I invited you here, to kindly ask you for the title deed of this land and your permission to have the mosque here."
So he called for Dr. Sumate, HM secretary of the Royal Project, and told him: "Give out the title deed of this land, so the Mosque can be registered."
At this moment he turned to me and asked "Who possessed this land?" and I said "I did." So HM asked, how many rai do we need and I told him about my idea for 2 rai.
"Let's do this! I will give you another 5 rai so you have 7 rai in total." HM the King said.
That moment I started crying - overjoyed - I started crying - and I was overjoyed.
Now the mosque could be registered on its own land.
Time went by and our mosque became too crowded. So a larger mosque had to be built to replace the old one. So HM the King even gave us money to built a new one.
"The Mosque of HM the King"every Muslim community now admires our Mosque, the one HM gave to us!
He gave us land, homes, careers ... he gave us anything. His generosity is indescribable and endless - not only for me but everyone in our villages.
We wish HM the King a long life, strength, and health for the better of the entire Thai nation. Long live the King!
